The MT6731 platform is optimized to provide a great smart-feature phone experience by bringing modern technologies, like quad-core 64-bit processing and dual 4G SIM technology, to the entry 4G market, while also offering a highly cost-optimized platform for device makers in both carrier and open markets.

Its 4G WorldMode LTE FDD/TDD Cat-4 (DL) / Cat-5 (UL) modem integrates RF and includes the latest connectivity features such as Dual 4G SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) with VoLTE, plus eMBMS, HPUE and Band 71 LTE (600MHz). To ensure the connectivity experience remains consistent, MediaTek’s own TAS 2.0 smart antenna technology improves the power efficiency and user experience by providing a more reliable and consistent connection quality.

The MT6731 brings together a powerful and efficient 64-bit, quad core Arm Cortex-A53 CPU and IMG PowerVR GE8100-class GPU to this entry mobile platform, with support for up to HVGA displays included. It provides a comprehensively faster package that offers up to 2.4X CPU performance (DMIPS) and up to 41% more GPU performance versus direct alternatives.

Its power-optimized multimedia core allows up to 5MP cameras, with dual camera options available to excite users with new features never-before seen in this category. Generational improvements are included for noise reduction, auto-focus speed and accuracy, even in low-light scenarios. HD videos can be captured at up to 30fps in h.264, with HD video decoding using the modern and efficient (H.265) HEVC codec also support.
